From the heart to green action: a quantitative analysis of environmental awareness in young travelers

Resumen

Este artículo tiene como objetivo analizar la eficiencia medioambiental, la conciencia ambiental, las preocupaciones medioambientales, la conciencia de la salud y el desarrollo cognitivo y emocional de los turistas jóvenes en los destinos turísticos de Ecuador. El estudio utiliza un enfoque cuantitativo y una muestra no probabilística de 555 jóvenes ecuatorianos. El instrumento de investigación es un cuestionario con preguntas descriptivas y 25 indicadores medidos utilizando una escala Likert de siete puntos. Los resultados muestran una relación significativa entre el desarrollo emocional y cognitivo con la conciencia ambiental, la conciencia de la salud y la preocupación ambiental. Los hallazgos sugieren que los turistas son más ambientalmente conscientes cuando experimentan situaciones emocionales, mientras que el desarrollo cognitivo está más estrechamente relacionado con la eficiencia ecológica. El artículo concluye que el turismo es un mayor compromiso medioambiental al experimentar situaciones emocionales, mientras que el desarrollo cognitivo está más estrechamente relacionado con la eficiencia ecológica.
